High Country Humane is a private nonprofit organization that serves the City of Flagstaff, Coconino County and supports animal welfare work across Northern Arizona when our resources allow. We receive funding from our contracts with the City of Flagstaff and Coconino County to care for stray animals and provide specified other services under a contract. These can include cruelty cases, abuse cases, owner died holds, hospital holds, arrest holds, abandonment holds and more. Many of our services & programs are only available because of the generous support from supporters like you! More than half of the funds necessary to operate our organization are raised through donations and bequests, special events and adoption fees. High Country Humane is proud to participate in the national Shelter Animals Count.  Shelter Animals Count is an independent 501(c)(3) working to standardize reporting for shelter statistics with the goal of increasing transparency and increasing lifesaving opportunities.
